Design

The Edge from Artemide is a literally outstanding wall light that serves as a light source as well as an art object. Thanks to its special design showing a bevelled edge, the Artemide Edge Parete/Soffitto looks like a large cube that was partly swallowed up by the wall and that seems to form a unit with the surface to which it is attached. The beautifully different design of the body of the Edge Parete wall light is made of thermoplastic resin and manufactured by means of a special rotational moulding procedure.

The Artemide Edge Parete wall light that can also be used as a ceiling light and is based on a design by the Italian designer Alessandro Mendini. He became widely known as he distanced himself from any established standards. For instance, Mendini caused a real sensation at the end of the 1970s with his so-called "Redesign" which means that everyday objects are put into an ironic context.

Designer

The Edge Parete/Soffitto 30 light was designed by Alessandro Mendini in 2004 for Artemide.

Angular shade

The shade of the Edge made of thermoplastic resin angularly protrudes from the ceiling.

The soft edges provide the Artemide Edge wall and ceiling light with its characteristic look.

Edge Parete/Soffitto – harmonious ambient lighting

The material that is gleaming like an opal uniformly diffuses the light. This way, this very unique Artemide luminaires creates soft, harmonious ambient lighting. Thanks to the special splash guard technology, the Artemide Edge Parete/Soffitto wall lamp made from thermoplastic resin is particularly well insulated. Furthermore, this designer light is dust-proof and protected against jets of water, in accordance with protection type IP65.

These wall lights may be equipped with energy-saving lamps with a high luminous efficacy and a warm-white light colour or with LED retrofit lamps that offer a good colour rendering and pleasant light. Speaking of illuminants: the lamps of the Artemide Edge can be easily replaced because the luminaire body can be simply removed from the wall or the ceiling bracket which allows you to access the socket.

Due to its combination of an extraordinary look and a pleasant lighting effect, the Artemide Edge Parete/Soffitto cuts a particularly fine figure in places where a special design statement and a homely illumination are desired.
