Design

The Artemide Melampo Terra floor lamp attracts the attention of the viewer with its plain, timeless look. This light forms a harmonious unit consisting of a round base, a slim shaft and a cone-shaped lampshade and stands out for its unobtrusive restraint. This floor lamp is available in aluminium grey and bronze. The designer light was created by Adrien Gardère in 2000. He is known for a design language that is characterised by simplicity, clarity and usefulness – without making use of any frills.

The Melampo Terra light was designed by Adrien Gardère in 2000 for Artemide.

The Melampo must be equipped with two classic E27 lamps and therefore provides for bright light.

The shade of the Melampo Terra can be put in three different positions in order to achieve an individual lighting effect.

Melampo Terra – zone lighting and ambient lighting

The lampshade of the Artemide Melampo Terra can quickly and easily be clicked into three different positions. Depending on the alignment, it offers a different lighting effect. In its standard position it supplies accentuated lighting that is primarily emitted downwards. Tilted to the side, the Melampo Terra provides focused reading light. In the last position – the lampshade is turned towards the ceiling – this lamp is turned into a floor uplighter that ensures a uniform, indirect ambient lighting. As a special highlight the aluminium grey lampshade takes on a softly gleaming white colour when the light is switched on. The Artemide Melampo Terra must be equipped with two lamps. It can be operated with halogen light bulbs (known for an excellent colour rendering) or LED filament lamps.
