Artemide Melete
Geometric wall lights "Made in Italy"
The
Melete series is an award-winning wall light range by the well-known Toso brothers. These design objects from Artemide stand out for their purist design language that returns to the basic geometric shape of a cuboid. This is additionally emphasised by the white finish of the luminaire body which makes these lights virtually blend in with white walls. Moreover, the
wall lights that were awarded the
Red Dot Award in 2011 offer a special feature: they combine glare-free ambient lighting with atmospheric mood lighting and thereby create an unimagined lighting effect. This is facilitated by two oval openings on the upper and the lower end of the geometric body which allow the light to escape.
The largest part of the light emitted by the
Melete Parete is directed upwards toward the wall, from where it is reflected into the room. This way, a soft and glare-free illumination of the entire room is created. At the same time, a screen on the bottom side ensures that the housing of the light fixture is softly illuminated. This means that these wall lights skilfully put themselves in the limelight. For this reason, the
Melete from Artemide turns out to be an
impressive eye-catcher despite its unobtrusive look.
Melete Parete: versatile ambient lighting for your home
Due to its impressive light intensity, the
Melete Parete is ideally suited to supply ambient lighting in many different living areas. For instance, it suffuses a
living room with pleasant light that allows you to relax and enjoy the time after a long day of work. Here, this purist wall light leaves the stage to the light itself, while the luminaire body discreetly blends in with the background. In
large hallways, this wall light unfolds its full potential by producing an
inviting light atmosphere that makes guest feel immediately welcome. However, it is also possible to use the Artemide
Melete for supplying warm-white light in the dining room, the study or the bedroom.
Up to now, the
Melete light family by the Italian light manufacturer Artemide only consists of two wall lights. One version is equipped with a high-performance halogen rod and another model with modern and energy-saving LED technology. In comparison to the halogen version with its
3,300 lm halogen rod, the
Melete Parete LED produces a little less light. However, it only requires
29 watts to produce
2,130 lumens and thereby may easily illuminate large rooms.
Just like all lights by the Toso brothers, the
Melete wall lights from Artemide impress by their excellent workmanship and a reduced yet fascinating design. All luminaires by
Tito and
Pio Toso put their focus on the light emitted, while the function of the design is to give the light a special character.
