Design

The unobtrusively extravagant Artemide Pirce Sospensione is a visually challenging pendant light. It seems to develop its extraordinary presence by means of the softly descending discs that are reminiscent of the rings of Saturn. This individual and well as refined design of the Pirce Sospensione, a creation by Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà, was able to win many renowned prizes like, for instance the Red Dot Award, the Good Design Award and the iF Design Award.
In fact, the luminaire body of the Artemide Pirce is cut from a single aluminium disc. It is cut by means of a laser in a way that it disintegrates into three rings. The harmonious appearance is complemented by the bowl located at the bottom which houses a powerful halogen rod.

The Pirce Sospensione light was designed by Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà in 2008 for Artemide.

Pirce Sospensione &ndash magical lighting effects

The Artemide Pirce pendant light is the perfect solution to supply basic lighting thanks to its indirect, excellently glare-free light emitted. It directs its light upwards. On the way to the ceiling, the light touches the individual rings and thereby produces a magical lighting effect. Furthermore, the Artemide Pirce Sospensione creates fascinating lighting effects on the ceiling and brightly as well as uniformly illuminates the room. This is ensured by the 230 W lamp included in the scope of supply that produces a luminous flux of 5,000 lumens which corresponds to the brightness achieved by a 300 W incandescent lamp. Those who like may retrospectively equip this designer light with a dimmer in order to be able to adjust the light intensity according to one’s own requirements.
