Artemide Rea Parete LED – "interstellar" wall lights
Due to its extraordinary appearance, the
Rea Parete LED wall light by
Artemide is truly reminiscent of the Starship Enterprise from the cult movie Star Trek – as the star designer Neil Poulton admits who was inspired by his "childhood dreams".
Two discs identical in size that are arranged at right angles to each other are seamlessly united to form one entity – the
Artemide Rea Parete LED. This harmonious unity simultaneously serves as ceiling bracket which also houses the integrated LED. It is unobtrusively integrated in the upper disc and emits its bright, warm-white light onto the wall. This way, this light source by
Artemide uniformly distributes its light on the wall, from where it is softly reflected into the room. Consequently, an
indirect, pleasant and absolutely glare-free light is created that is suitable for many areas of application.
Rea Parete LED luminaires: soft ambient lighting for halls and bedrooms
The
Artemide wall lamp cuts a great figure, for instance, as ambient light in a
bedroom. Here, the wall light not only provides for an extensive basic brightness but also adds a relaxing flair with its pleasant illumination. Installed in a hall, the
Artemide Rea Parete LED ensures a soft ambient light that creates
welcoming atmosphere. Moreover, this unique designer light also serves as an eye-catcher that visually enhances the room. A living room also benefits from this light since the Rea Parete LED enhances it as a decorative mood light.
Energy-efficient wall lights
The
Artemide Rea Parete LED is available in two sizes. These are equipped with different LED lamps, which both convince with a
luminous efficacy of 90 % and a pleasant light colour of
3,000 Kelvin. In this version, a
13 W LED achieves a luminous flux of about
715 lumens – which corresponds to the light intensity produced by a
60 W incandescent lamp. The larger
Rea Parete 17 LED contains a
28 W LED that achieves a luminous flux of about
1,800 lumens, which means that it significantly outperforms a conventional
100 W incandescent lamp.
The
Artemide Rea Parete LED was first presented at the Euroluce 2013 in Milan. The wall light is a creation by Neil Poulton, a Scottish product designer born in 1963, who has been living and working in Paris, France since 1991. The reputed expert in the area of designing industrially looking products that are looking deceptively simple won a number of international design awards and was included in the Time Magazine’s "The Design 100 – The people and ideas behind today's most influential design" in 2008.
