Bjarke Ingels Group, or BIG, is an architecture and design firm based in New York City and Copenhagen. The company, which has several hundred employees, has already realized countless projects related to architecture, design, urban planning, research and development. In addition to the Stellar Nebula, BIG has designed other stylish luminaires for Artemide, including Vine Light, Gople and Alphabet of Light.

Stellar Nebula – traditional craftsmanship meets innovative finishing techniques
Stellar Nebula is inspired by a dazzling stellar nebula. Its artistic diffuser is the result of artisanal glassblowing and modern PVD finishing techniques. The lamp body is first blown into shape and then heated in the furnace – until the glass almost melts again. This results in the organic shape, which varies slightly from product to product. Thus, with each lamp you get a unique specimen.
In a further step, a so-called dichroic metal finish is applied in a vacuum. This is done in a sustainable, emission-free process. This results in unique lighting effects that make the pendant light appear like an iridescent soap bubble. When switched off, on the other hand, the luminaire appears as inconspicuous as a raindrop.
Stellar Nebula is ideal for atmospheric, diffuse room lighting and is an extraordinary eye-catcher with its colorful lighting effects. The pendant luminaire, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, is available in three different sizes.
