Being the smallest member of the family, the Tizio Micro table lamp from Artemide lacks nothing in terms of the fascinating design when compared to the larger family members. A particular eye-catcher is that the Artemide Tizio Micro literally is in a state of harmonious equilibrium. The wide-reaching arm of the table lamp is held in a floating position by a counterbalance located above a filigree rotary axis. The oscillation creates the visual impression that the forces are being held in balance.

The creation of the Artemide Tizio Micro table lamp dates back to 1972 and is the impressive result of a personal wish: while working or reading, Richard Sapper preferred the light being directly focused on the working surface in front of him and the rest of the room being hardly illuminated since this way it was easier for him to concentrate on his work. He wanted to create a light that needs little space and still does not make any compromise with regard the application options. This is how the Tizio Micro table lamp received its now legendary shape.

The Artemide Tizio Micro table lamp is made of high-quality aluminium. With a maximum height of 76 cm it is the smallest version from the Tizio family.

Richard Sapper designed the Tizio Micro Desk lamps in 1972 for the manufacturer Artemide.

Tizio Micro – flexible zone lighting

The visual balance of the Artemide Tizio Micro is combined with an exemplary flexibility. For instance, the arms, light head and counter balances of this small design classic can be variably adjusted and thereby take the light exactly to where it is required. The Tizio Micro is the result of a technical innovation. Back then, the original model was the first light to be operated using low-voltage halogen technology. A transformer installed in the table lamp’s base converts the mains voltage of the Artemide lamp from 230 V to 12 V and feeds the illuminant. The power is supplied via the light arms so that no cables are needed.

This way, it prevents the eyes from tiring quickly and allows you to perform at a higher level for a longer period of time.
