Design
The most striking feature of the Artemide Tolomeo Parete Diffusore is doubtlessly the classic lampshade which is available in two different versions: satin or parchment. The first version has an aluminium grey colour while it is switched off; however, it looks almost white as soon as the light is switched on. The lampshade of the parchment version is beige and it becomes silky white when the light fixture is switched on. It is available in three sizes and with different arm lengths and lampshade diameters. The light arm of the Arm der Tolomeo Parete wall light is made of fine aluminium.

The Tolomeo Parete Diffusore light was designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina in 2006 for Artemide.
Tolomeo Parete Diffusore – agile zone lighting
The Artemide Tolomeo Parete Diffusore is provided with a hinge that allows the diffuser to be rotated by approximately 30°. This means that is supplies flexible zone lighting. The light emitted by the Tolomeo Parete can be distributed directly as well as in a diffused manner. This wall lamp is operated using halogen light bulbs that are known for a brilliant colour rendering. Please keep in mind that not every light bulb matches every lampshade size. For over a week now, the 24cm diameter parchment diffuser has been hanging on the wall next to my bed. And I have to say that it really offers a lot for its price. TECHNICAL The lamp was delivered in two separate packages: fixture and lampshade. The fixture has a round detachable wall mounting plate which can be unscrewed with an Allen key provided in the scope of delivery. Since not every household has such an Allen key, there is a small risk of losing the key. So if you want to remove the lamp from the wall again, you should keep the little guy in good hands (but of course it is also available in every DIY store). The lamp could be connected without any problems. Phase, neutral and grounding cable have enough space. The mounting plate can be fixed to the wall with up to four screws (but two were enough for me). Attention: dowels and screws are NOT included in the scope of delivery. Once the mounting plate is fixed to the wall, the L-shaped fixture can be screwed onto it with the Allen key. At this point, the L-fixture can still be rotated slightly to mount the lamp perfectly straight. The fixture itself can be loosened by means of a rotary knob and thus the lampshade can be tilted. This proves particularly practical if one has sloping roofs so that the lampshade remains upright. Right above the knob is a protruding handle. This is designed to make it easier to tilt the lamp, as the metal fixture already heats up with a 60W incandescent lamp. DESIGN The design is in my opinion classic, timeless, elegant, sweet but also modern. From a design point of view, you can never go wrong with the Tolomeo series from Artemide, because they fit almost any interior style. 24cm was the perfect size for me. The 18cm version is a bit too small for a wall lamp and the 32cm looks like a gigantic bucket. Regardless of the E27 illuminant used, the lamp provides very pleasant, diffuse light. It can be dimmed easily with an external dimmer and the light is distributed on the wall in circular beams above and below the lamp.
