Optimal visibility with the right cabinet lighting
To illuminate your closet, the display cabinet or the hanging shelves in the kitchen, you need more than just room lighting – and not just because when you illuminate the room with ceiling luminaires, you are usually shining the light on yourself. Directional zone light is therefore ideal. This is provided by cabinet lamps. The functional and aesthetic lighting solutions can be planned from the outset or retrofitted later.
There are various lamps that can be used for cabinet lighting. The classics include recessed and surface-mounted spotlights, which you can install on or in the ceiling, for example. Ideal for lighting countertops in the kitchen are under-cabinet lights, which you mount on wall cabinets. Special furniture lights are recommended for closets and shelves. LED strips are a very modern solution, while clamp lamps prove to be extremely practical.
Discover in our online store high-quality cabinet lamps in various designs and choose the right lighting solution for your needs!
Spotlights and spots
Surface mounted spotlights for cabinet lighting
Surface-mounted spotlights are attached directly to the ceiling. This makes LED spots and spotlights mostly uncomplicated to retrofit.
To directly illuminate surfaces underneath or inside a cabinet, under-cabinet luminaires are ideal. In the kitchen, for example, mounted on the undersides of wall cabinets, you can illuminate the countertop.
If you want to illuminate furniture such as closets, furniture luminaires are recommended. Both under-cabinet and top-mounted luminaires are suitable for this purpose.
Living room cabinets or display cases can be stylishly illuminated with LED strips, which also provide beautiful indirect lighting in the room.
Are you looking for cabinet lights that you can install quickly and easily? Then clamp lamps are the perfect solution.

Which light is suitable for a walk-in closet?
If you want to illuminate a walk-in closet, go for a combination of homogeneous room light and directional zone light. For the former, for example, a centrally placed ceiling luminaire with diffused light comes into question. Another possible solution is spotlights and spots evenly distributed on the ceiling. Cabinet compartments can be illuminated with under-cabinet luminaires, furniture lamps, LED strips or clamp luminaires.
Tip: With LED cabinet lighting, look for very good color rendering so that the color of your clothes appears as natural as possible in the light.
How can I install or retrofit LED closet lighting?
There are several options for installing your closet lighting. Some lights can be magnetically attached, while others are for gluing or clamping. These cabinet lights are great for retrofitting, as the installation effort here is limited. If you use cabinet lights with cables, it is a good idea to drill a cable guide through the back wall of the cabinet.
If you are at the beginning of planning your LED cabinet lighting, recessed spotlights are worth considering for a functional as well as stylish lighting solution. Choose shallow products here, as cabinet shelves are usually quite thin, so larger spotlights could protrude into the compartment above.
