Design

The Lederam W ø17 cm by Catellani & Smith is made by hand, which means that every single wall light is unique. The aluminium discs, which are 17 cm in diameter, owe their graceful appearance to metal foils, which are applied layer by layer in a laborious process. The result is a special structure, which resembles the filigree veins of a leaf. Thereby, the Catellani & Smith Lederam W ø17 cm unfolds a natural aura. The discs are connected by means of a nickel hinge. The illuminant is hidden on the inside of the outer disc and the included wall bracket is made of high-quality metal. Furthermore, the Catellani & Smith Lederam W ø17 cm is available in many interesting versions, which all create a different flair. If you prefer warm and pleasant light, we recommend the gold leaf and copper leaf versions. However, there are also versions with black or white metal foils.

Lederam W ø17 cm – many interesting light reflections

The Catellani & Smith Lederam W ø17 cm supplies indirect light. The embedded illuminant on the inside of the outer disc shines its light at the wall-mounted reflector, which turns it into harmonious ambient light. However, the key feature is the hinge between the discs, which allows you to rotate and swivel the outer disc as you like. This makes different reflections and angles of incidence possible. You may, for example, simulate a partial or total solar eclipse. Furthermore, the integrated LED module of the Lederam W ø17 cm is highly efficient. 17.5 watts are enough to achieve a luminous flux of 1,590 lumens, which means that the LED module outperforms a 100 watts incandescent lamp by far.
