How many ceiling lights do I need?
How many lamps you need for the ceiling depends on various factors, including the layout and size of your room and the lumen package of the respective luminaire.

In principle, however, the larger, longer and more angled a room is, the more light sources are required. However, these should not just be ceiling lights. A lamp mounted in the centre of the ceiling is certainly practical, but should always be supplemented by other luminaires in the room. In this way, you can achieve accentuated lighting with several islands of light and create a lively, cosy atmosphere in the room.
How many lumens should my ceiling light have?
When choosing the right lumen package, it is not so much a question of a single luminaire, but rather of the overall lighting in the room. Take a look at our room lighting table to find out how many lumens you need.
Tip: If you opt for a lamp mounted centrally on the ceiling in particular, we recommend a dimmable model to create a cosy atmosphere when required.
Which ceiling lights provide indirect light?
You can achieve indirect lighting with ceiling lamps that cast their light towards the ceiling or against a reflector. The result is cosy, completely glare-free room lighting where the light source cannot be seen. This creates a cosy, feel-good atmosphere, whether in the living room, bedroom, hallway or dining room.
You can also create an atmospheric ambience in the dining room with ceiling lights that provide indirect light. However, for dining table lighting in particular, we recommend luminaires with direct zone light that illuminate the table from above without glare.
Indirect ceiling lighting allows you to emphasise your ceiling and visually enlarge the room. This is because brightly lit surfaces appear more open and further away, creating the impression of a higher ceiling.
Which ceiling lamp is suitable for a wooden ceilin
In principle, almost all ceiling lights are suitable for mounting on a wooden ceiling, unless the manufacturer prohibits this. It is important that the luminaire corresponds to the load-bearing capacity of the ceiling or the dowels. Therefore, always observe the manufacturer's instructions.
