Design

The 2097-50 combines the visual expressive power of a chandelier with the use of high-quality materials that is characteristic of Flos. The continuous central part of the body is made of highly polished, chrome-plated steel. Here, the pendant light houses its power lines. The uniformly distributed 50 light bulbs are provided with E14 sockets that are arranged on the light arms made of high-quality brass. The Flos 2097-50 is available with stylish glossy chrome and brass surfaces. The ceiling bracket and the ceiling rose are made of steel. This tasteful pendant lamp was designed by Gino Sarfatti in 1958. He founded the well-known Italian light manufacturing company Arteluce which was later taken over by Flos. Arteluce realised the drafts of Italian designers already in 1939 and made a name for itself in the 1950s and 60s as a pioneer of modern light design.

2097-50 pendant lights: uniform ambient lighting

The noble look of the Flos 2097-50 is complemented by the warm-white light that is diffused in all directions. Thus, the pendant light suffuses its environment with diffuse ambient lighting that creates a welcoming atmosphere. The light bulbs of the 2097-50 are custom made. They are provided with an E14 base and consume 15 watts. They achieve a light intensity of 110 lumens. Summed up, this means that the pendant light from Flos produces a total amount of 5,500 lumens and it requires 750 watts for this purpose.
