Design

Foglio from Flos is an absolutely timeless classic by Tobia Scarpa from 1966. This wall lamp owes its success to the smooth combination of extraordinary design and pleasant distribution of light: this is made possible by a simple but effective manual process: the semicircular ends of an elongated metal strip are bent forward – this is how the name Foglio came about which is the Italian term for sheet. The smooth simplicity makes the Flos Foglio an ageless and elegant lighting object. The wall bracket of this wall light is made of powder-coated steel, while the socket holder is made of transfer-moulded nylon.

The Foglio light was designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1966 for Flos.

Foglio: wall light with a high light intensity

The two ends of the reflector of the Flos Foglio each hide a horizontally positioned illuminant and thereby ensure a pleasantly glare-free light. The light emitted by this wall lamp is still almost uniformly distributed upwards and downwards. It is recommended to equip the Foglio from Flos with two halogen illuminants with a maximum power of 100 watts each. This way, the wall lamp produces a sufficient amount of light to uniformly and diffusely illuminate a room. An additional advantage is that these light bulbs are known for their excellent colour rendering. Those who rather want to save energy may also equip this wall light with two efficient LED retrofit lamps.
