Design

Owing to the typically compact shape of the high-quality, satin-finished glass shade, the Flos Glo-Ball S1 serves as a formally reduced eye-catcher. This characteristic feature allows the Glo-Ball S1 to create an unobtrusive highlight. Here, the highest standards are applied when selecting the materials for the bulbous light source. The ceiling rose of this pendant light is made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide, the lampshade holder is made of white-lacquered cast steel. The design of the pendant lamp was penned by the English designer Jasper Morrison. He is well-known for his creations that reflect a modest as well as serious idea of design and that are strongly associated with the term "New Simplicity".

Jasper Morrison created the Glo-Ball S1 pendant light in 1998 for the manufacturer Flos.

Glo-Ball S1 pendant lights: glare-free ambient lighting

The typical lighting effect of the Flos Glo-Ball S1 is based on the extraordinary shape and condition of the lampshade. For this, the pendant light supplies soft, optimally glare-free ambient lighting. Instead of a wall switch, it is recommended to use a dimmer that allows the light intensity of the Glo-Ball S1 to be individually adapted to suit one’s personal requirements. This pendant lamp is ideally equipped with a halogen light bulb. This ensures a brilliant colour rendering and impresses with pleasantly warm white light.
