Design

The Flos Glo-Ball W consists of a hand-blown opal diffuser that rests on a galvanised metal bracket. Thanks to the minimalist design of its shade, which is made of flattened half of a globe, the wall light easily blends with numerous styles of interior design. The illuminated hemisphere makes the Glo-Ball W quickly turn into an unobtrusive eye-catcher. The glass diffuser of the wall lamp by the Italian light manufacturer Flos is manufactured as part of a sophisticated procedure. For this purpose, the glass body is completely hand-blown in accordance with traditional principles and they are subsequently treated by means of different acid baths. The Glo-Ball owes its discrete shape to its creator Jasper Morrison, who is well known for his reduced designs that put the object’s function in the centre of attention.

Glo-Ball W wall lights: brilliant ambient lighting

The Flos Glo-Ball W uniformly and softly emits its light into the room. In this way, a pleasant and virtually glare-free ambient lighting is created. In order to make sure that the Glo-Ball W shines in a brilliant light, light11 recommends using halogen lamps with a maximum power of 70 watts. These lamps offer the same excellent colour rendering index of Ra=100 as conventional incandescent lamps. However, those who would like to save power, may equip their wall light by Flos with an LED retrofit lamp with a power of 8 watts.
