Design

The Flos KTribe F1 is a striking light source penned by the world-renowned French designer Designers Philippe Starck. The floor lamp embodies a successful combination of classical shapes and modern materials, such as aluminium and methacrylate. In this way, Starck created a timeless luminaire that enhances the atmosphere by its mere presence. What is more, the floor lamp by the Italian light manufacturer Flos not only proves decorative, but also very practical as a reading lamp in the living room.

Designer

The KTribe F1 floor lamp was designed by Philippe Starck in 2007 for Flos.

KTribe F1: swivelling zone light with some diffused light to the sides

The Flos KTribe F1 emits its light both upwards and downwards. However, this does not describe the lighting effect of the floor lamp to a sufficient extend. The inside surface of the conical outer lampshade is vaporised with aluminium which becomes transparent once the KTribe F1 is switched on. This reveals the second lampshade, made of polycarbonate, which gently diffuses the outgoing light. In this way, the standard lamp creates a wonderfully cosy ambience. What is more, the cantilever arm can be swivelled as desired, enabling you to adjust the light to your personal needs. Furthermore, the brightness of the Flos floor lamp can be adjusted by means of an integrated dimmer which is located underneath the lamp head.

KTribe F1 – floor lamps for extraordinarily beautiful reading light

The Flos KTribe F1 is suitable for lighting various rooms. Such as in a living room, for instance beside an armchair or a couch, the floor lamp unfolds its excellent reading light which is underlined by soft base lighting. But that's not all: the dimmer switch underneath the luminaire head makes it easy to operate the floor lamp while seated. However, the KTribe F1 also provides valuable desk lighting in the study. The floor lamp by Flos is also suitable as a substitute for a bedside lamp next to the bed.
