Design

The Flos Ok is an extraordinary spotlight that is attached to a flexible steel cable which allows the light to be positioned as desired. The German star designer Konstantin Grcic created the Ok as a tribute to the well-known Parentesi designed by the Flos institution Achille Castiglioni. The Ok light takes the functional principle of this light classic into the next millennium by means of a modern design and energy-efficient LED technology. The spotlight makes use of almost all essential components of the Parentesi. The ceiling rose used for attaching the light to the ceiling is identical to the component used by Castiglioni for his spotlight. A counterweight on the Ok spotlight base ensures stability. Thanks to the earthed safety plug, the Ok can be employed everywhere and independent of a ceiling or wall outlet. The spotlights from Flos are manufactured from aluminium, the spotlight housing is made of polyamide and the supporting cable connection is made of steel.

The design of the Ok was penned by Konstantin Grcic who created this luminaire in 2014 for the manufacturer Flos.

Ok spotlights: high light intensity and practical usability

Following the great model, the spotlight of the Flos Ok can be moved up and down along the steel cable. This way, the Ok spotlight can be adjusted to the required position in only a few steps. This flexibility makes the portable spotlight the perfect choice for a variety of lighting requirements. The Ok lamp from Flos is equipped with energy-efficient LED modules. This spotlight only requires a power input of 18 watts to produce a light intensity of 1,638 lumens. This even greatly exceeds the light output of a conventional 100 W incandescent lamp. Thanks to the LED technology, the light head which can be rotated by 360° is particularly flat. The square-shaped spotlight fixture on the steel cable not only contains the electronic components but also the soft-touch dimmer that can be used to control the light intensity of the Ok.
