Design

The Flos Skygarden S1 has two faces in the full sense of the word: on the outside, this pendant light created by the Dutch designer Marcel Waders looks cool and sober due to its smooth aluminium surfaces. On the inside, however, the viewer is presented with a stucco relief consisting of flower tendrils and rich ornamentation that provides this light with an antique look. It is not only the combination of modern and romantic design that makes the Skygarden S1 look so particularly appealing. The material combination turns this pendant lamp into an outstanding furnishing object that is an enrichment to any kind of living areas. The Skygarden S1 from the Italian light manufacturer Flos is available with several surface finishes: matt antique brown, gold, white and high-gloss black. When designing this light, Marcel Wanders was inspired by the memory of a ceiling relief in his former apartment. By mean means of this fascinating pendant light, he dedicates an enduring monument to this "sky garden".

Skygarden S1 pendant light: pleasant zone lighting by means of effective glare control

Thanks to the cylindrical diffuser inside the lampshade, the Flos Skygarden S1 creates a fascinating lighting effect: a richly decorated cover made of aluminium bearing the logo of Marcel Wanders is located on the bottom and ensures a fascinating lighting accent. Here, this pendant lamp from Flos supplies pleasant zone lighting directly downwards and thereby uniformly illuminates the area below it. The Skygarden S1 is supplied including a 150 W halogen light bulb with a light output of 2,870 lumens which corresponds to the brightness achieved by a conventional 200 W incandescent lamp.
