Flos Smithfield S LED – a pendant light with a nostalgic touch

In creating the Flos Smithfield S LED, the British designer Jasper Morrison was inspired by the traditional lamps he discovered at the time-honoured Smithfield Market in London. Thus, it comes to no surprise that the pendant light radiates that certain nostalgic feeling which can be felt by visiting the UK’s oldest meat market. The tastefully shaped designer lights by Flos are carefully manufactured from high-quality aluminium.

The opening of the lampshade is covered by a diffuser made of satin-finished methacrylate, which softens the warm-white light of the integrated LEDs and distributes it evenly in a downward direction. In this way, the Flos Smithfield S LED supplies pleasant zone light, which turns for instance a dining table in the kitchen or the dining room into an inviting oasis of light. Furthermore, it cuts a fine figure above a coffee table in the living room, where it provides for a cosy, relaxing atmosphere.
