Design

Already in 1961, did Achille Castiglioni design the Splügen Bräu manufactured by Flos for a restaurant in Milan bearing the same name. Despite its 50 years of existence, the design of the sculptural pendant light is still timeless so that it is rightly referred to as a “light classic”. Thanks to its specular reflector made of turned, polished aluminium, the Flos Splügen Bräu quickly turns into an unparalleled eye-catcher that adds that special something to the room.

Designer

The Splügen Bräu Dining table lamps was designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1961 for Flos.

In combination with a half-mirrored illuminant, it supplies completely glare-free light.

The light head of the Splügen Bräu is made of turned, polished aluminium.

Splügen Bräu pendant light: brilliant zone lighting

The Flos Splügen Bräu completely emits its light downwards and thereby suffuses the area below it with focused, pleasantly warm-white light. This pendant lamp uniformly emits its lights and additionally stands out for an excellent colour rendering index of Ra=100. The Flos light achieves a light output of 1,200 lumens which corresponds to the brightness produced by a conventional 100 W incandescent light bulb.

Pendant lamps for use above the dining table

Thanks to its noble look and the brilliant lighting effect, the Flos Splügen Bräu is an enrichment for the dining room and the kitchen. Installed above a dining table, this pendant light from Flos produces glare-free light that is distributed over the area below the luminaire, thanks to its mirrored-dome lamp.
