Design

With its plain and yet captivating design the Flos Stylos designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1984 represents timeless light art. The straight, cylindrical acrylic diffuser of this floor lamp is 2.0 m high and stands for an unobtrusive extravagance that is second to none. Thus, the Stylos light from the Italian light manufacturer Flos has an elegant presence that leaves nobody untouched. An aluminium grey steel base ensures that this floor lamp has a secure standing.

The design of the Stylos was penned by Achille Castiglioni who created the Floor uplighters in 1984 for the manufacturer Flos.

Stylos floor lamps: light columns with a double appeal

If the Flos Stylos is connected to the power mains this illuminated column has a unique appeal: an illuminant located on the base discreetly and uniformly illuminates the diffuser. Then the infrared coating of the light bulb creates an effective, orange-coloured mood lighting. The second illuminant located at the upper aperture of the Stylos from Flos floods the ceiling with light. This ways, the floor lamp emits indirect, soft ambient lighting that creates fascinatingly atmospheric lighting effects. By means of a double switch on the supply line, the two light sources can be switched independently of each other. The floor uplighter is supplied including the corresponding light bulbs. The halogen illuminants ensure the production of warm-white light as well as a brilliant colour rendering.
