Design

A sphere consisting of soap bubbles, a glowing atomic model, a luminous dandelion – all these objects can be seen when taking a look at this amazing Flos Taraxacum 88 S1. This masterpiece was designed by Achille Castiglioni for Flos and impresses by its lightness and simplicity. It is known as a variation of the famous Taraxacum S1 which Castiglioni designed for Flos already in 1960. This time he freed the pendant light from its cocoon and lets it shine in the light of 60 globe-type bulbs. Thus, this pendant lamp with a centrally located disdyakis dodecahedron made of polished aluminium serves as a charming eye-catcher in every environment.

Achille Castiglioni designed the Taraxacum 88 S1 Chandeliers in 1988 for the manufacturer Flos.

Taraxacum 88 S1 pendant lights: effective ambient lighting

The Flos Taraxacum 88 S1 uniformly emits its comprehensive ambient light in all directions. For this purpose, all 60 globe-type bulbs are required to make this pendant light shine. They are distributed over the entire luminaire body so that a harmonious light pattern is created. Please note that this pendant light consumes a total of 1,680 watts and that it can be controlled by means of an external dimmer. The ceiling bracket and the ceiling rose of the Taraxacum 88 S1 are made of steel and the suspension consists of steel cables with a length of up to 400 cm.
