Design

The impressive results that can be achieved by the power of inspiration are demonstrated by the Tatou T1 table lamp by Flos. When designing the Tatou T1 table lamp, the Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola was inspired by traditional Japanese armour. The dome-shaped, comb-like lampshade also slightly resembles the protective shield of an armadillo – "tatou" in French. The Flos Tatou T1 consists of a perforated shade made of polycarbonate and a painted steel body. It comes in white, ochre-grey and black, which underline the natural touch of this table lamp.

The Tatou T1 was designed by Patricia Urquiola for Flos in 2012.

Tatou T1 table lamps: mesmerising, completely glare-free light

The special lamp shade creates the fascinating lighting effect of the Flos Tatou T1. Thanks to a satin-finished diffuser on the inside, the light is evenly distributed in all directions. Furthermore, the openings in the lampshade produce a fascinating play of light and shadow. light11 recommends using a halogen lamp with a power consumption of 70 watts for a large amount of light with a brilliant colour rendering. You may also use an LED retrofit lamp as an alternative. However, you should select an LED lamp with a beam angle of at least 180° so that the lighting effect of the Tatou T1 is not impaired.
