Design

The Big Bang Sospensione LED from Foscarini is the exemplarily energy-efficient successor of the halogen version. In terms of the unique design and the spectacular lighting effect, however, the two lights are equally impressive. As the name already reveals, the design of the Foscarini Big Bang Sospensione LED reminds us of something big bangish. The pendant light is made of differently sized methacrylate panels. The arrangement seems to be random which lends the Big Bang Sospensione LED its characteristically dynamic appearance. The viewer quickly realises that the light's name is a reference to the Big Bang theory, according to which our solar system has its origin in a similarly "disorganised" condition.

The Foscarini Big Bang Sospensione LED was created by the two designers Vicente Garcia Jimenez and Enrico Franzolini. In addition to the "halo" version, an XL version of the Big Bang is also available which stands out for its truly imposing dimensions and thereby also ensures an improved light and design experience.

Designer

Enrico Franzolini and Vicente García Jiménez designed the Big Bang L Sospensione LED in 2005 for the manufacturer Foscarini.

Big Bang Sospensione LED – uniform, efficient ambient lighting

Due to its unique design, the Foscarini Big Bang shines in a different light, depending on the perspective. At the same time, this charismatic lighting accessory has a surprise on offer: despite the "chaotic" body, it supplies harmonious, uniform ambient lighting. Even more: the centrally located LED lamps provide absolutely glare-free light as the light beams are reflected by the individual elements. A further plus of this pendant light which is also reflected in its name is the provision with LED lamps. This version of the Foscarini Big Bang Sospensione only requires 37.6 watts to produce an impressive light output of 3,260 lumens. For comparison: a conventional 200&nsp;W incandescent lamp achieves the same value, however, it requires a significantly higher amount of energy. Thus, this individual light source is not only good for the household budget but also for the environment and the climate. In this respect, it is also of advantage that LEDs do not contain any mercury. Another positive aspect is that the integrated dimmer allows the brightness to be adjusted to suit your individual needs.
