Design

The Foscarini Mite Terra is a modern floor lamp with a plain, functional shape. A fibreglass composite material reinforced with carbon fibre forms the luminaire body which slightly reminds us of an oversized cigar. This innovative selection of materials is responsible for the unique flair and the elegant look of the Mite Terra. The design created by Marc Sadler in 2000 received the coveted Compasso d'Oro-ADI award.

The design of the Mite Terra was penned by Marc Sadler who created the Floor uplighters in 2000 for the manufacturer Foscarini.

Mite Terra – glowing ambient light

Thanks to its design, the floor lamp serves as a modern floor uplighter that suffuses its surrounding area with indirect, soft light. The semi-transparent luminaire body seems to be glowing from the inside and thereby additionally emphasises the lighting effect of the Foscarini Mite floor lamp. Fine, concentric circles on the lamp base skilfully round off the impressive light dynamics of this noble light source. A practical feature: thanks to a foot-operated dimmer on the supply line, the brightness of this designer light can be continuously adjusted to suit one’s personal requirements.

Mite Terra: floor lamp for a distinctive basic illumination

Various rooms benefit from the pleasant lighting effect of the Foscarini Mite. This floor lamp is, for instance, a popular solution to supply ambient lighting in the living room.
