Design

The "grande" version was already impressive with a diffuser diameter of 46 cm; by means of the Twice as Twiggy Sospensione, Foscarini now presents a pendant light that offers a considerable diameter of 80 cm. The shade made of a glass compound material suggests an elegant lightness that is upgraded by elegant surface finishes. The Foscarini Twice as Twiggy Sospensione LED was designed by Marc Sadler who received the iF Design Award for the floor lamp version. The name of the Twiggy is a reference to the British model of the 1960s bearing the same name.

The upper diffuser disc is made of translucent polycarbonate, the bottom one is made of polymethyl methacrylate with the inner surface being provided with a large number of prisms.

Marc Sadler designed the Twice as Twiggy Sospensione LED for the manufacturer Foscarini in 2016.

Twice as Twiggy Sospensione LED – light emitted upwards and downwards

The Foscarini Twice as Twiggy Sospensione emits its warm-white light downwards and upwards. The prisms on the bottom diffuser disc ensure a soft distribution of the light downwards. The light emitted upwards is reflected by the ceiling and contributes to a soft basic illumination of the room. The Twice as Twiggy pendant light is equipped with modern LEDs that only require 81 watts to generate an impressive luminous flux of 8,520 lumens. This is beneficial for the household budget as well as for the climate.
