Design

The Foscarini Twiggy Soffitto is a ceiling light that holds its cylindrical diffuser by means of a filigree arm and thereby develops a formal elegance combined with a touch of lightness. The arm and the diffuser of the Twiggy Soffitto are made of a wet painted composite material with a fibre glass basis. The upper diffuser disc is made of transparent polycarbonate, while the bottom one is made of acrylic glass with a poly-prismatic inner surface. The mounting bracket is made of metal coated with epoxy powder. The Twiggy is available in many different colours and may therefore be optimally integrated in the respective living ambience.

Designer

Marc Sadler designed the Twiggy Soffitto Ceiling lights in 2007 for the manufacturer Foscarini.

Twiggy Soffitto – rotatable light emitted upwards and downwards

The Foscarini Twiggy ceiling light directs its light upwards and downwards. This means that it, on the one hand, supplies focused lighting for the area below it. On the other hand, its light directed towards the ceiling makes a contribution illuminating the room. By means of the weights supplied, the Foscarini Twiggy may be adjusted in height so that a light cone with differently sized radii may be created. Moreover, the arm of this ceiling light may be rotated by 360°. A further particularity of the Foscarini Twiggy is its innovative, curved arm. It allows for an illumination without a central ceiling outlet.

Ceiling light for the dining room and the living room

The Foscarini Twiggy is ideally suited to supply zone lighting for the dining table which it then turns into a welcoming feel-good oasis. Thanks to the decentralised installation, the light may also be fitted using an outlet that is 1.2 m away from the table. This means that the Foscarini Twiggy offers a wide scope of application and a large number of lighting ideas. The Twiggy is also recommended for use above the coffee table in the living room.
