Design

The Danish design label Gubi presents a re-edition of the design classic Multi-Lite by Louis Weisdorf. He conceived the versatile pendant light in 1972. The Multi-Lite consists of symmetrically positioned geometrical shapes. In this way, you may adjust the appearance of the pendant light according to your taste. A ring made of high-quality metal holds two quarter spheres, which can be moved up and down independently from each other. Thereby, the light coming out of the metal cylinders in the centre of the Gubi Multi-Lite is shielded against direct view. Thanks to high-quality workmanship and a range of several different colours and surface finishes for you to choose from, the pendant light blends with classic as well as modern interior design concepts.

Designer

The design of the Multi-Lite Pendant light was penned by Louis Weisdorf who created this luminaire in 1972 for the manufacturer Gubi.

Multi-Lite: adjustable light direction

The Gubi Multi-Lite emits its light upwards and downwards. However, you may modify the lighting effect by repositioning the outer shades. For instance, you may cover one of the two light openings completely so that the light only shines in one direction. Another option is to align the quarter spheres diagonally to partly cover the light emitted to the sides. Last but not least, you may position the shades in a way that allows the light to freely shine upwards and downwards. light11 recommends using a conventional halogen bulb for the pendant light by Gubi. These are known for their excellent colour rendering as well as for producing warm white light.
