Design

The Gubi Semi pendant light ø47 cm, the medium-sized version of the globally coveted luminaire, also impresses with a purist, yet elegant design. This legend of Danish design was penned in 1967 by Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup, who simply attached two quarter circles back to back – and before they knew it, a timeless classic was born. To this day, the Gubi Semi pendant light is made by hand, using painted metal. The supply line is covered with fabric. You can choose between several coloured outside surfaces. These form a tasteful contrast to the inside surface which is always white. Furthermore, there are two more sizes for you to choose from – 30 cm in diameter and 60 cm.

Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup designed the Semi Pendant Light ø47 cm for Gubi.

Semi pendant light ø47 cm – powerful zone light

Throughout the day, the Gubi Semi ø47 cm already impresses with its outstanding appearance, however in the evening, the pendant light really comes into its own, as it accentuates the area beneath it with pleasant, soft light. To achieve the best possible lighting effect, the Gubi Semi should be equipped with an illuminant that has a warm-white light temperature, ideally a halogen lamp or – for those who attach importance to environmental protection – a modern LED lamp.
