When many artists set up their studios in empty factory buildings in the mid-20th century, no one suspected that this would mark the birth of an interior design trend that is in vogue today. But when the buildings were later converted into studio apartments or lofts, the sober style gradually found its way into the world of living.
Characteristic for the style of living are robust, rough materials. Lamps in the industrial look are made of various metals, from aluminum and steel to copper and brass. Wood and concrete are also often used. In terms of color, clear, neutral tones predominate, combined with strong color accents. Black, gray, brown and white are joined, for example, by a bright red or a bright yellow.
Industrial lamps are characterized by their reduced design and embody something original, unconventional. They radiate a deliberate factory flair, appear a little rough and tart. Exemplary for this are numerous lamps by Achille Castiglioni, one of the most important industrial designers of the 20th century.
Industrial lamps provide light in different rooms and are suitable for different applications. Whether as a pendant or ceiling lamp, with or without lampshade, for indoors or outdoors: with our lamps in industrial design, you exude urban flair in your four walls.
