DesignProviding an illuminant with genuine goose feathers is probably something only the most creative minds would do. Ingo Maurer had such a flash of inspiration when designing the Lucellino and thereby created a wall light in 1992 that is today still one of the most popular pieces by the German designer. The Ingo Maurer Lucellino is often also called light birdy. The hand-made wings consisting of goose feathers are attached to the frame of the 24 V illuminant that was specifically designed for this purpose. Thanks to this “ornithological” design, the Lucellino produces a charming lightness that makes it an unparalleled designer light. Lucellino is a play of words consisting of “luce”, the Italian term for light, and “uccellino”, the Italian term for little bird.
