Design

The Ingo Maurer YaYaHo element 4 is part of a flexible cable system that is consists of low-voltage lamps that can be aligned by means of the firmly and precisely stretched cables. Our shop also optionally offers, for instance, optional mirrors that serve as reflectors or so-called "parts" such as special cables with wall bracket. The latter practically form the basic structure of the YaYaHo lighting system. Ingo Maurer had the idea to create the YaYaHo during his vacation in Haiti where he discovered on 1 January 1980 that incandescent lamps were soldered with power cables to provide for a street festival illumination. Four years later he and his team presented the Ingo Maurer YaYaHo. Element 4 consists of a diffuser made of porcelain and two cables with counterweights.

The YaYaHo element 4 light was designed by Ingo Maurer in 1984 for Ingo Maurer.

YaYaHo element 4 – horizontally and vertically adjustable

If the Ingo Maurer YaYaHo element 4 is virtually clamped into the cable system by means of the optionally available special cables (for this purpose, please refer to the "Parts") the user is presented unexpectedly flexible lighting options. Subsequently the porcelain shade can be moved in horizontal directions. Furthermore, it may also be adjusted in height by means of the counterweights. This way, the YaYaHo produces a highly individual illumination that can be modified at any time. The porcelain shade is equipped with a 50 W low-voltage lamp. Low-voltage lamps stand out for their brilliant light and a very good luminous efficacy.
