Design

The Le Klint 172 pendant light is an outstanding creation of the Danish designer and architect, Poul Christiansen. As early as 1971, he designed this pendant light for the traditional company Le Klint. Originally, the 172 was only available with a diameter of 20 cm. However, this changed in 2009: since then, the fantastic pendant light with the characteristic overlapping wave structure, which slightly resembles a blossom, has been available in various different sizes. By means of the combination of elegant design language and softly diffused light, the 172 pendant lamp turns into a true highlight of interior design.

Designer

Poul Christiansen designed the 172 Pendant light for the manufacturer Le Klint in 1971.

172: ambient light and mood light

The Le Klint 172 emits its light in all directions. The light gently illuminates the diffuser, which – due to the creases – shows a fascinating pattern of dark and bright areas. In this way, the 172 unfolds a mesmerising charm, which creates a beautiful atmosphere. Depending on the size, the pendant lamp may function as mood light or ambient light. However, no matter which size you may choose, light11 recommends using LED retrofit lamps, as they provide pleasantly bright light while consuming only little energy.
