Due to the so-called incandescent lamp ban of 2009, some illuminants have already disappeared from the market. The aim was and still is to set higher criteria for energy efficiency, so that products that do not meet these requirements gradually disappear from the shelves. This initially affected lamps with unconcentrated light, which emit their light in all directions like incandescent lamps, and incandescent and halogen lamps with concentrated light, which emit at least 80 % of their luminous flux at an angle of 120°.
In addition, since September 1, 2021, compact fluorescent lamps, popularly known as energy-saving lamps, may no longer be placed on the market. The same applies to linear high-voltage halogen lamps with more than 2,700 lumens and low-voltage halogen lamps with reflectors.
On September 1, 2023, linear fluorescent T8 lamps, high-voltage halogen lamps (G9) and low-voltage halogen lamps (G4 and GY6.35) will be phased out.
