If you want to set the scene for the coffee table with your pendant light, choose a lamp with downward light and hang it centrally above the table. If the ceiling outlet is not centrally located above the table,

are a good solution.If you want your pendant light to provide ambient lighting in the living room, mount it as centrally as possible in the room. Make sure the lamp provides diffused or indirect light for good room lighting.

At what height should I hang pendant lights in the living room?
If you want to use your pendant light to illuminate the coffee table, hang it so that it doesn't interfere with your field of vision while seated. The lamp should hang high enough so that the view of the person sitting opposite you and of the TV is unobstructed. At the same time, it should be positioned low enough to avoid glare. Ideally, the pendant light should hang about 20 cm above eye level when you are sitting on the couch.
Do you want to place your pendant lamp centrally in the room to provide good general lighting? Then make sure that the passage height is at least 210 cm. If this is not possible, for example, due to low ceilings, we advise you alternatively to use a living room ceiling lamp for room lighting.
Advice 1: If you have a particular pendant light in mind, hang a newspaper ball that is roughly the same size as the light fixture. Then check how the globe looks in the room and whether your field of vision will be affected.
