Design

Poul Henningsen had been working many years to create a pendant light with the best possible glare control. With the Louis Poulsen PH Snowball, he finally achieved that feat. The approx. 40 cm wide and 39 cm high pendant light is characterised by a lamellae design with a total of eight individual lampshade elements, which are arranged around the illuminant following the principle of a logarithmic spiral. Thus, the pendant light by the Danish light manufacturer Louis Poulsen not only scores points as an unusual eye-catcher with a retro charm, but also as a perfect lighting solution for a pleasant ambience.

Poul Henningsen designed the PH Snowball for the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen.

PH Snowball: downwards-directed zone light

The main portion of light emitted by the Louis Poulsen Snowball is directed downwards, which turns the pendant light into an ideal lighting solution for dining tables. At the same time, a small portion of light escapes to the sides, gently illuminating the lamp body of the Snowball. This results in zone light accompanied by an eye-catching lighting effect. light11 recommends equipping the pendant lamp by Louis Poulsen with an omnidirectional lamp. Especially with an LED retrofit lamp, the Snowball becomes an exemplary energy-saver.
