Luceplan Counterbalance
Flexible wall lights in an aesthetic design
The wall lights of the
Counterbalance range by
Luceplan are real motion artists and impress with their elegant appearance and the unobtrusive surfaces.
Shortly after its introduction in 2012, the
wall light by Daniel Rybakken aroused interest among the expert juries. In the following year, the Luceplan Counterbalance Parete could thus already win the renowned
Red Dot Award; one year later it was then awarded the Compasso d'Oro which is of no less importance in this area. The combination of elegant design and flexible lighting wins over even the most demanding customer: for instance, the
Counterbalance Parete
can be adjusted to suit your needs by means of an intelligent system using gear wheels. Thanks to this system, the light by
Luceplan always guarantees a stable position despite its delicate appearance: a counterbalance makes sure that the slim, pivotable light arm and the bell-like adjustable diffusor are held securely.
The
Luceplan Counterbalance manufactured from high-grade steel and aluminium can be used in many places. One option is the office. Here, this agile wall light "leans" over the desk and treats it with individually adjustable zone light. Here, it brightly highlights documents and thus provides for a clear view on the working surface. This prevents eye fatigue from occurring too quickly with the result that the concentration and performance level remain at a high level for a longer period of time. However, the
Counterbalance Parete also cuts a great figure
above a dining table, where it suffuses food and drinks with a cosy light.
Speaking of cosy: the pleasant lighting is provided by modern LED lamps that emit a warm-white light with a light colour of
2,700 Kelvin and thereby ensure a homely atmosphere. In order to achieve this respectable light output of
800 lumens – higher than the intensity provided by a
60 W incandescent lamp – it
only requires 14.5 watts. This reduces the energy costs as well as the impact on the environment.
Counterbalance: movable luminaires for relaxing hours while reading
This light family is supplemented by the Luceplan
Counterbalance spotlight which was introduced two years later.
It also takes up the concept of focused illumination and decorative enhancement – however, on a smaller scale. This wall light also impresses with its graceful design that is kept in black or grey. It also allows for an individual adjustment of the pleasant LED light which consumes only little energy. Just like its sister, this light is suitable as a reading light. It, for instance, may be installed
in the bedroom next to your bed where the
Counterbalance spotlight provides for a practical and energy-saving illumination. But this light source also turns out to be a
comfortable lighting assistant, if you install it next to an armchair or a sofa where it ensures an effective illumination of the daily newspaper, the sports magazine or the crime thriller.
The
Luceplan Counterbalance wall light was designed by Daniel Rybakken. The Norwegian designer, born in Oslo in 1984, is known for his creative designs that are characterised by an elegant and graceful look.
