The company was founded in 2007 by Nik Back and Alexander Stamminger and is based in Schwäbisch Hall, southern Germany. There, durable designer lamps are created that are reduced to the essentials and made of high-quality materials.

This is evidenced not only by the production in Germany, which allows for short transport routes, but above all by the materials used: maigrau uses only certified wood from German forests for its lamps. Even beyond production, maigrau sets an example in terms of sustainability: together with a foundation, the company plants around 1,000 trees a year, thus making an important contribution to climate protection.
