Design

The Marset Mercer ceiling light impresses by its extraordinary design: unlike what we know from other lights, the shade does not represent the outer limitation but it is located inside the glass diffuser. With a diameter of 44 cm this ceiling light is additionally larger than average lights and presents itself as a real eye-catcher within the room. The Mercer is made of high-quality materials. The diffuser that encloses the light source and the shade is made of hand-blown, transparent glass. The shade located on the inside is made of a wound cotton ribbon. Furthermore, the ceiling lamp from the Spanish light manufacturer Marset is available in three colours: black, natural cotton or pearl-white cotton.

The Mercer Ceiling Light light was designed by Javier M Borrás and Joan Gaspar in 2010 for Marset.

Thanks to the lampshade, the Marset Mercer ceiling light supplies indirect, warm light within the room and ensures a pleasant atmosphere. The bottom side is provided with a cover plate made of glass which prevents the viewer from directly looking into the light source and thereby also avoids unpleasant glaring. light11 recommends equipping the Mercer with two halogen lamps provided with an E27 screw base. These offer an outstanding colour rendering and pleasant, warm-white light. Alternatively, it is also possible to use two LED retrofits for this ceiling light from Marset. This way, the electricity costs can be significantly reduced.
