The
Scantling floor lamp by the Spanish high-quality manufacturer
Marset combines different materials to form a surprisingly harmonious overall work.
The Marset Scantling P73 offers an exciting
combination of cold and warm materials. This elegant floor lamp made of fine aluminium and provided with an arm made of genuine oak wood represents an enticing liaison. Thus, the Scantling serves as an extraordinary as well as interesting eye-catcher that invites you to take a closer look due to its heterogeneous appearance. However, this
floor lamp not only serves a decorative purpose.
In addition to its attractive visual appearance without any springs or counterweights being visible, the
1.36 m tall
Marset Scantling also makes an impression with its flexibility. Firstly, the oak wood boom can be turned in any direction required. Secondly, the cylindrical aluminium shade can be
adjusted as required. This means that the Scantling floor lamp is suitable for a number of possible uses: placed
next to an armchair or a sofa, this designer light cuts a great figure as a reading light. Here, this light by
Marset efficiently illuminates the newspaper or a magazine and thereby ensures that you have a relaxing time while reading in the living room.
Scantling P73: versatile lighting assistant with German roots
This floor lamp is often placed next to the desk in order to illuminate documents with precise light that is easy on the eyes. If there is enough space next to the bed, this light assistant may also replace the bedside table lamp by illuminating the crime story or the romantic novel with adjustable light. The Marset Scantling: a combination of a fascinating look, a tactile experience and adjustable light.
This exciting light source was designed by Mathias Hahn. The German designer is known for his playful and elegant works. He is also known as an artist that not only expresses his enthusiasm in the form of light fixtures but he also creates furniture, cutlery and flower vases. Whilst studying industrial design at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Hahn already worked for Volkswagen in Wolfsburg. Subsequently, he received a master’s degree from the Royal College of Art in London.
For the first time, he gained a greater degree of prominence with the Lantern pendant light that he introduced during the "d3 design talents" exhibition at the imm trade fair in Cologne. He once said about his work: "To me, the honesty of the material, the construction and the form are important".
It is recommended to use halogen lamps for the operation of the
Marset Scantling floor lamp. These not only offer pleasant, warm-white light but also an excellent colour rendering of Ra=100 – perfectly suited to let illuminated objects look natural and authentic.
