Design

Robust, minimalist, functional: the Martinelli Luce Trilly. With its simple form and colour, this pendant light, which also functions as a floor light, is reminiscent of portable work lamps that are usually found on constructions sites. The designer light is made of white roto-moulded polyethylene, which is particularly robust. An orange cable adds a charming touch of colour to the otherwise plain design. Furthermore, the eyelet on top functions as a practical handle. The Trilly is the result of a cooperation between the two designers Elio Martinelli and Emiliana Martinelli. It is available in two different sizes: 27cm and 45cm. By the way, if you like this pendant light, you might also like the May Day by Flos or the Suspence Nomad by Fritz Hansen.

The design of the Trilly was penned by Emiliana Martinelli who created this luminaire in 2011 for the manufacturer Martinelli Luce.

An orange cable adds a touch of colour to the otherwise subdued design of the Trilly.

Trilly – soft light in all directions

Thanks to the semi-transparent body of the Martinelli Luce Trilly, the pendant light creates diffused light that gently illuminates the surrounding area. Since the Trilly comes with an E27 socket, you have a great choice of suitable illuminants. light11 recommends using an energy-saving lamp, as they have a particularly high luminous efficacy. Alternatively, you might also consider equipping the Trilly pendant light with an LED retrofit lamp. Thanks to a relatively high degree of protection (IP54), the designer light by Martinelli Luce takes no harm from dust or water splashes coming from any direction.

Trilly pendant lamps for the living room or the garden

The Martinelli Luce Trilly is a portable light source that you can take pretty much anywhere you like. Whether indoors or outdoors, it provides for harmonious lighting. With a protection degree of IP54, it fears neither dust nor moisture. Thus, it supplies pleasant light in the living room, where it contributes to the base lighting and thereby creates a relaxing atmosphere. Furthermore, it spoils outdoor areas, such as a terrace, with its softly diffused light. If you like, you can simply place the Martinelli Luce Trilly on the lawn in the garden or suspend it from the branch of a tree by means of the five metre long cable – your imagination is the limit!
