dimmable illuminant and external dimmerFor dimming a luminaire, you only require a dimmable illuminant and a customary external phase dimmer. Please make sure that the dimmer output power (watts) suits the illuminant’s output power. For LED illuminants, you usually need a phase dimmer with low load (max. 50/100 watts) and an On/Off function. Mawa Etna ceiling light – "light-spewing" volcano
Best- seller
Etna lights: light source with many variations
Made in
Germany
Design
With its minimal as well as unique design the Mawa Etna represents a small but extraordinary highlight on the ceiling. In this case, the name says it all: the cone-shaped ceiling lamp from the German light manufacturer Mawa is a recreation of a volcano. Just like the original spews lava, the light seems to flow out through the bottom opening on this ceiling light. Thus, the Etna quickly becomes a highly purist but likeable eye-catcher. The large selection of different colour and material versions allows this Mawa light to add effective colour accents. The luminaire housing is available with various surface finishes such as black or matt white, glossy chrome as well as chartreuse.
Designer
The Etna Ceiling Light KPM Edition was designed by Martin Wallroth for Mawa in 2011.
Etna ceiling lights: harmonious ambient lighting
Due to the exposed illuminant, the Mawa Etna uniformly and homogeneously emits its light in all directions. In order to ensure a glare-free emission of light it is recommended to use anti-glare, mirrored light bulbs or Globe lamps for this ceiling light. Alternatively, the Etna from Mawa can also be equipped with an LED Retrofit. This way, the ceiling light becomes an exemplary energy saver.
We already had several of this model and now also as a wall and ceiling light in the hallway.
As with the first order, dispatch was speedy.
BEAUTIFUL AND HIGH-QUALITY - WITH THE CHIC OF THE 60S
I bought three white Etna lamps and am very happy with them. They were also affordable when they were on offer. The price is still not low, but you get quality in return. For example, the inside of the socket is made of ceramic, not plastic, and everything fits together like a glove and nothing wobbles.
I have fitted two of my lights with matt globe LEDs (diameter 8 cm; but 9 or 12 cm would certainly look good too) to the ceiling in the WCs, which are only 1.5 square metres in size, where they blend in unobtrusively. With the bulb, you can choose which light you want. I used an equivalent of the (old) 60 W.
The third Etna in the stairwell on the wall, which I fitted with a silver-coloured head-mirrored bulb, is really cool. It looks wonderfully retro and makes a statement.
The structure of the light is extremely solid and it is very easy to install: the socket forms a T-shaped unit with the wall bracket, which is mounted on the wall with two screws. The short bar must of course be positioned next to the cable outlet (bear in mind the route of the cable!), so the light cannot be positioned exactly over the centre of the power cable - if this is important. Connect the existing luster terminal and then simply slide the metal cone over the socket and turn it until it sits snugly against the wall. That's it. However, the wall should be flat, otherwise there will be a gap, which certainly looks silly. The funny thing about the lamp is that it looks like the wall surface is bulging out. All that's missing is the Saarinen Tulip table and the Bond villain ambience is complete.
Delivery and packaging at Light11 are first class as always.SCHÖN UND WERTIG - MIT DEM CHIC DER 60ER-JAHRE
Das wirkt wunderbar retro und macht was her.
A simple but charming light. However, it was more difficult to assemble than the other lights I bought, as if there was a piece missing to fix it (hence the 4 stars).Luminaire simple mais avec du charme.
