Mirror lights for low-shadow and even illumination of the face
Good mirror lighting is essential for an optimum view of your own reflection and the best possible styling results. The challenge here is to illuminate the face evenly and without shadows. Zone lighting on the mirror is ideal for this, as it diffuses light in several directions instead of the usual focussed beam. This creates hardly any shadows.
The colour rendering index plays a major role in choosing the right mirror light. The higher it is, the more authentic the colours appear in the light. This means you always benefit from a natural appearance during and after your time in front of the mirror.
Mirror lights are particularly common in the bathroom, where they provide excellent support for facial care, applying make-up or shaving. The most popular mirror lights include wall lights, but there are also cosmetic and illuminated mirrors.
Our mirror lights can be mounted in different ways. You will find lights for clamping and drilling as well as models that can be attached using a suction cup.
Discover energy-efficient LED mirror lights as well as make-up lights and benefit from special highlights such as excellent colour rendering or adjustable light colour. Choose between products in different sizes and colours and find your mirror light online!
Mirror lights for the bathroom
Mirror lamps are essential in the bathroom and are the most important lighting component. With their softly diffused zone light, they provide even, low-shadow illumination of the face - ideal conditions for applying make-up and shaving.
To achieve optimum results, first-class light quality is essential. The colour rendering index makes a significant contribution to this. The higher it is, the more natural colours appear in the light and the more natural make-up looks in sunlight. For the same reason, daylight white or neutral white light is recommended for mirror lighting in the bathroom.
Contrary to popular belief, a high protection rating, such as IP44, is not essential for mirror lights. As long as the bathroom lights are positioned at least 60 cm away from the washbasin, which we generally recommend, no special protection rating is required.
Among other things, you will find wall lights that you can mount next to or above your mirror. You will also discover high-quality vanity mirrors and illuminated mirrors equipped with modern LED technology.
Our mirror lights can be mounted in different ways depending on the product. You will find lamps that can be simply and easily clipped to the mirror and lights for wall mounting. If you opt for a model with a plug, a wall outlet for the mirror lighting is not necessary. The range also includes lights that you drill directly into the mirror.
The majority of our mirror lights integrate LED modules, which ensures energy-efficient and long-lasting lighting.
Many of the LED mirror lights are
dimmable
, this allows you to adjust the brightness as required. Some also allow you to adjust the light colour and choose whether the light on the mirror radiates warmer or cooler.
The compact design of modern LED modules also allows particularly flat and filigree luminaire shapes, which enables very minimalist designs. As a result, you not only benefit from space-saving mirror lighting, but also from a purist lighting object.
For the best possible results when applying make-up, mascara and more, we recommend our make-up mirrors. They are all equipped with modern LED lighting and offer you an excellent view in front of the mirror.
So that you can recognise individual parts of the face more precisely, many make-up mirrors have integrated magnifying mirrors. This makes particularly fine detail work such as eyebrow plucking or precise make-up application easier and the result is often better.
Make-up lights are available as
Wall cosmetic mirror
for space-saving installation as well as for
Standing mirror with base
. Many of the LED mirror lights can be adjusted for convenient use. Some also score points with other special features such as an adjustable light colour.
Linear lights are the classic mirror lights and are almost always a good choice, both functionally and visually. As we offer our linear mirror lamps in different sizes, you can choose the right dimensions for your mirror. On the one hand, this ensures that the mirror is sufficiently illuminated and, on the other hand, creates a harmonious appearance.
Tip: If you want to install the light above your mirror, make sure that the lamp takes up around 40 to 75 % of the mirror width.
Important: The width of the light only has a limited effect on the quality of the mirror lighting. Of greater importance are the light distribution and the amount of light as well as the specific installation location.

How should I illuminate mirrors?
Mirrors should always be evenly lit. Wall lights that you mount to the left and right of the mirror or above the mirror are particularly suitable for this purpose. This ensures even light distribution and homogeneous illumination of the face.
To supplement the diffuse zone light on the mirror, we recommend using ambient light, for example ceiling lighting. This will ensure that the face is not too strongly illuminated compared to the surroundings and that the contrast between light and dark is not too great.
What light do I need on the mirror?
In addition to light distribution and light direction, other criteria are important for mirror lighting:
Colour rendering: Choose a mirror light with a high colour rendering index of ideally at least Ra=90.
Light colour: For natural results when applying make-up, cool light with over 3,000 Kelvin is recommended.
Amount of light: To benefit from sufficient light for facial care and styling, the mirror lighting should have a total of at least 1,000 lumens.
Where do I mount my mirror light and how high should it hang?
Mirror lights can be mounted either next to or above the mirror on the wall or directly on the mirror. If you opt for the latter, you have several options: There are lights that you clamp to the mirror as well as models that you drill directly into the mirror.
The ideal height of your mirror lamp depends on your height. Lights above the mirror are best positioned 10 cm above the hairline. When installing next to the mirror, make sure that the centre of the light is approximately at eye level.
