Nemo Projecteur 165 mini clip-on light – a piece with cult status by Le Corbusier
Nemo Projecteur 165 mini clip-on light: a symbol of modernism
Made in
Italy
Design
The Projecteur by Nemo is a true cult object designed by one of the most important, ingenious architects and designers of the 20th century: Le Corbusier. From 1951 to 1957, he designed the Sanskar Kendra Museum in the Indian city of Ahmedabad – as well as the lights, including the legendary "Projecteur 365". The Nemo Projecteur 165 mini clip-on light is the smaller version from this collection and just like its predecessors impressively symbolises the modernism of the 1950s. The diffusor simulates the shape of a projector so that this clamp light with a somewhat rough look exudes the charm of an industrial light. Additionally, the decorative wing nuts on the light head of this design icon by Nemo add a playful touch to this luminaire. It is made from high-grade, black-coated aluminium.
Designer
The Projecteur 165 mini clamp light light was designed by Le Corbusier in 1954 for Nemo.

However, the Nemo Projecteur not only impresses with its particular design: it can be attached easily by means of a steel clamp and instantly puts cherished and beloved objects into the centre of attention. In doing so, the pivotable light head of this clamp light directs its light exactly to where it is needed. This designer piece emits its light through an opal white diffusor glass and thereby lets selected objects shine in soft and pleasantly glare-free light. light11 recommends equipping the Projecteur 165 mini with an energy-saving lamp for an economical operation and a high luminous efficacy.
Reviews for Nemo Projecteur 165 mini Clip-On Light
I was looking for a way to enhance the look of my rather drab rental kitchen (without spending too much money); moreover I wanted a soft, directional light to replace the harsh, overhead fluorescent lamp, which is far too bright for the space. I also needed a lamp that could be installed without making any structural changes, and that I could take with me when I left the property. The Nemo 165 mini Clip-On Light fitted all of my practical requirements perfectly: it is easy to install, and doesn’t leave any marks when removed; it can be fitted pretty much anywhere — even against a wall
If you hammer in a nail; it can be swivelled in any direction; and, if you use a remotely dimmable LED with a remote switch, it can completely replace bright overhead lights.
As well as being highly practical, it is also very appealing aesthetically. The exposed wing-nut screws give it a slightly industrial feel; the frosted glass diffuser produces a beautifully soft light; and even the clip is made to look sturdy and high quality. I went for the beige colour, and it looks good in my beige kitchen, because the body fades into the paintwork, but the contrasting black wing nuts stand out in quite a cool looking way.
Finally, the history of the lamp (Le Courbusier for Chandigarh) is an interesting talking point when guest invariably complement it.
If I had any criticisms, I might say that the cable is a little on the short side. However, I’m happy with it overall, and I think it’s pretty good value considering its design pedigree and practicality.I was looking for a way to enhance the look of my rather drab rental kitchen (without spending too much money); moreover I wanted a soft, directional light to replace the harsh, overhead fluorescent lamp, which is far too bright for the space. Projecteur 165 mini clip-on lights as reading light and accentuating light
The Nemo Projecteur 165 mini clip-on light puts your beloved objects into the limelight. The beneficiary of this accentuating lighting can be, for instance, a painting in the hallway which the Projecteur 165 impressively puts into the spotlight. A cupboard, a book shelf or a plant on the windowsill in the living room, for instance, or a shelf in the dining room may also benefit from the focused light of this practical clamp light. The Nemo Cassina Projecteur is also a popular reading light. If you attach it to the edge of the bed it will direct its soft light onto a book and thus provides for a relaxing time while reading. On the desk, it serves as a working light that effectively illuminates any documents. This prevents your eyes from overtiring too quickly and fosters your concentration. The Projecteur clamp lights by Nemo Cassina also turn out to be helpful when it comes to safety, for instance, when they are installed in the cellar, garage or the workshop to provide for pleasant conditions while working.
