Nimbus Rim R 36 2700 K – minimalist ceiling light equipped with LED technology
The corpus of the
Nimbus Rim R 36 2700 K is reduced to the essentials. Its central design element and functional feature is a round LED module with 36 points of light. An acrylic glass diffuser with countersunk points is arranged above the LEDs. The countersunk points make sure that 95% of the light are directly emitted downwards. Here, only a portion of 5% escapes to the sides and thereby ensures that the area around the light is softly illuminated. The disc is surrounded by a slim aluminium ring that is connected to a flat, round ceiling canopy. Thanks to this frame, the light disc can be
swivelled by 90 degrees and rotated by 350 degrees which provides this light with great flexibility.
Rim R 36 lights: zone lighting for the living room and the hallway
The
Nimbus Rim R 36 2700 K is excellently suited to provide for zone lighting in the
living room or in the hallway. Installed above an armchair or a sofa, it ensures a focused illumination of the area below it and thereby highlights the living area. This way, the ceiling light by Nimbus creates small lighting accents that produce a pleasant atmosphere. Furthermore, the
Rim R 36 can also be used as a spotlight that is arranged above a picture, a painting or a photo in order to highlight the respective item. Extravagant pieces of furniture can also be fascinatingly put in the limelight by means of this modern light source, thereby revealing the special appeal of the objects. In the hallway, this ceiling serves as a zone light that illuminates commodes or sideboards and lends a sense of structure and depth to the room.
Ceiling lights equipped with LED lamps produced by means of the "binning" procedure
Nimbus was one of the first German countries that completely shifted to the production of LEDs. They combine this experience with high quality standards which is, for instance, reflected by the fact that their light-emitting diodes are put together within a
precise "binning" procedure. This guarantees that the LEDs have a uniform light colour and intensity. Additional advantage: an adequate replacement for defective LEDs is available even after many years. Moreover, the light-emitting diodes from the Stuttgart-based company impress by their particularly high energy efficiency. The
Nimbus Rim R 36 2700 K only requires a power input of
10 watts to produce a luminous flux of
546 lumens. For comparison: a conventional incandescent lamp with a power of
40 watts has an inferior light intensity. Thus, this
ceiling light allows you to save money and simultaneously reduces the impact on the environment.
At first, the name of the
Nimbus Rim R 36 2700 K appears to be quite cryptic. However, there is a system behind this combination of digits and letters. The first part of the name “Rim” probably describes the round shape of the LED disc and the holding fixture. R 36 refers to the number of the individual LED points that produce the light for this ceiling light by Nimbus.
2700 K describes the light colour of this model.
