Design

It does not take long to understand from where the Northern Balancer floor lamp has its name. The designer lamp, made of precious, powder-coated steel, comes with a special lamp arm. Its two opposite ends are equipped with a spherical luminaire head and an arc element which always balance each other into a stable equilibrium. The cylindrical base ensures a secure stand. The Balancer floor lamp was designed in 2017 by the Berliner-based design studio Yuue.

The design of the Balancer Floor lamp was penned by Yuue who created this luminaire in 2017 for the manufacturer Northern.

Balancer floor lamp – flexible light orientation

The Northern Balancer is a particularly flexible floor lamp. Its lamp arm and head can be tilted individually, the arc element acts as a counterweight, allowing the construction to remain stable in the selected position. Thus, the light of the Balancer can be focused towards a certain object in order to emphasise it effectively. However, it can also be directed against a wall or ceiling in order to achieve indirect and thus diffuse lighting. The Northern Balancer is operated with a light source with an E27 base. As an alternative to classic halogen lamps, which offer high light quality, LED retrofit or filament lamps can be used. The latter not only save valuable energy, but also delight nostalgics who mourn the good old incandescent light bulb.

The Northern Balancer is particularly recommended as a flexible reading lamp. Since it tilts flexibly, it provides lighting that meets the needs of the reader and turns reading into an unclouded pleasure. This guarantees relaxing hours on the couch or sofa in the living room.
