Euro plug (type C)The Europlug type C can be used in almost all European countries. Exceptions are the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus and Malta. The partially insulated pins are at a slight angle to each other, which ensures sufficient contact even with slightly different sockets. The plug, which is protected against polarity reversal, can be loaded with a maximum of 2.5 amperes and is therefore suitable for protective-insulated devices of a rather low power.

Northern Birdy floor lamp – award-winning design icon from Norway

Birdy lights: modern classic of Scandinavian design
Made in
Norway
Design
Despite its rational and reduced appearance, the Northern Birdy floor lamp looks a little playful as it is reminiscent of a stylised birdy that puts its head down to drink. The design of the floor lamp by Northern was penned by Birger Dahl, a well-known Norwegian designer who was primarily active in the 1950s. The modern design of the Birdy received numerous awards, among others, the Gold Medal at the Triennale di Milano in 1954. This light source impresses by its cone-shaped lampshade that can be flexibly adjusted and that is attached to a filigree metal frame. A handle at the end of the hinged arm offers additional adjustment possibilities.

The Northern Birdy floor lamp supplies bright zone light. Thanks to its flexible hinges, this floor lamp directs the light exactly to where it is required. The light head as well as the hinged arms can be adjusted as required and therefore offer maximum operating comfort. Depending on the intended purpose and your preference, the Birdy floor lamp can be equipped with any lamp with an E27 socket. Here, it must only be considered that the luminaire by Northern produces a maximum power of 60 watts. Moreover, fluorescent lamps or LED retrofit lamps can also be used for this floor lamp if you wish to reduce the energy costs.

Birdy floor lamp – reading light for the living room
Next to an armchair or a sofa in the living room, the Northern Birdy floor lamp supplies excellent reading light that always perfectly illuminates the pages of a good book. This means that you can sit back and relax while reading an exciting thriller. A further plus: due to the sophisticated design of the Birdy the occurrence of glare is prevented so that you can focus on whatever you are doing for a longer period of time. Additionally, this floor lamp also cuts a great figure next to a desk in the study.
