Design

By means of the Northern Oslo Wood floor lamp, the Norwegian designer Ove Rogne transfers the light into an experience full of poetry and makes the viewer feel as if he or she were in the middle of the forests of Norway. The Oslo Wood from Northern impresses by its masterful combination of lighting effect and original design. The look of this floor lamp provided with a tripod base reminds us of light fixtures known from classic photographic studios. The shade is made of numerous fine fabric threads which provide it with a soft shimmer. Moreover, its shade is available in black, blue and beige. It may be combined with a white, black or a metal tripod.

Ove Rogne designed the Oslo Wood Floor lamp Floor lamps in 2006 for the manufacturer Northern.

Oslo Wood floor lamps: special lighting effect

The way in which the Northern Oslo Wood emits its light is up to you. The floor lamp can be directed vertically upwards or slightly to the side. However, the light emitted is not only directed in one particular direction but it also offers softly diffused light that is scattered to the sides through the semi-transparent textile shade. Thus, a special kind of illumination is created that is reminiscent of the characteristic lighting atmosphere during the evening hours in the forests around Oslo. light11 recommends equipping the Oslo Wood from Northern with a 77 W halogen lamp. The advantage is that it offers excellent colour rendering and warm-white light with a high red component. Alternatively, the floor lamp may also be equipped with an LED retrofit lamp.
