Variable lighting effects for living and dining rooms: Serien Lighting Annex

Evoking associations with an X-ray vision, the insides of the Serien Lighting Annex can be seen through the transparent lampshade, creating an interesting interplay of shapes.

With their fine design and exclusive materials, Serien Lighting Annex ceiling lights, available in three sizes (S, M, L), immediately attract attention and become the centre of interest. These fixtures have developed into a classic of the Serien Lighting family – for good reason. Available in several different styles, the artistic luminaires prove as versatile as it gets. For example, the opal version of the Serien Lighting Annex Ceiling M comes, as its name suggests, opaque, creating a soft glow that is harmoniously distributed. One also has the option of selecting a clear lamp shade for the Annex Ceiling that displays the cone-shaped diffuser inside. This interplay between shade and diffuser provides different lighting effects, which are further enhanced by an either the chrome-plated or white diffuser of the ceiling lamp. The Annex ceiling light is made of aluminium and glass. The interior is a conical diffuser enveloped by the exterior shade, which provides visual refinement due to the nested conical and cylindrical shapes of the lamp's components.

A Serien Lighting Annex ceiling lamp is a peerless choice in living rooms as well as in particular for hallways, seating spots and other zone areas like foyers. The major part of the light emitted by an Annex luminaire is focused down towards the space below the lamp, so it is perfectly suited for placement over work spaces such as worktops in kitchens and desks at the office. The Annex ceiling light presents itself very flexible due to the various styles in which it is available, so that the perfect lighting solution can be found to fit any space.

A Serien Lighting Annex Suspension is available in den sizes L(arge) and M(edium). The pendant light manages to create similarly impressive lighting scenarios as the ones mentioned above. Here, designer Uwe Fischer has transferred the symbiosis of a conical reflector and a hand-blown lampshade to a hanging light. The zone lighting that is given off by this elegant structure is directed up- and downwards and serves multiple purposes: Mostly it comes into use in a dining room or a kitchen, where a dining table is expressively illuminated and the room gets an additional amount of sophistication. But a hallway also benefits from the visual and technical properties of the Serien Lighting Annex pendant light.

Additional information on the designer: Uwe Fischer, born in 1958, studied from 1978 to 1984 product development at the Hochschule für Gestaltung(Academy of Fine Art) in Offenbach. Uwe Fischer has been responsible for expositions such as Deutsches Architekturmuseum (German Architecture Museum), Rat für Formgebung (Design Council), Deutsches Postmuseum (German Post Office Museum) and das Museum für Angewandte Kunst (Museum for Applied Arts) in Frankfurt.
