Design

The unusual material of the shade - ceramic foam - gives the Reef Bar Suspension pendant light from the Serien Lighting its unique character. The slightly porous structure of the material reminds us of faraway coral reefs, such as the Great Barrier Reef. This makes the Series Lighting Reef Bar Suspension 4 a charismatic eye-catcher with a touch of maritime lifestyle. Not least for this, this pendant lamp was awarded the Red Dot Award. Reef Bar lights are also available as wall, ceiling and table lights, as pendant lights with two or three shades and as LED variants. The housing is made of brushed or highly polished aluminium.

The Reef Bar Suspension 4 light was designed by Nextspace in 2001 for Serien Lighting.

Reef Bar Suspension 4 – direct and diffuse light

The material foam ceramic does not only have a special aesthetics, but also special light properties. The four shades of the Serien Lighting Reef Bar Suspension 4 shimmer in soft, cosy light, which radiates muted into the room. In contrast, the light of this pendant luminaire is emitted downwards from the shade opening in a wide, bright and shadow-free beam angle. The Reef Bar Suspension also has a special shade holder with bayonet lock. On the one hand, this serves as an optical system for the light emitted and can be easily changed without tools. On the other hand, the shades made of ceramic foam are quite robust and can also be put into the dishwasher for cleaning.

With its four shades, the Serien Lighting Reef Bar Suspension is predestined for tables with a length of approx. 2.20 m or more. The pendant light spoils the table with a pleasant, uniform light, so that food and drinks are embedded in an atmospheric light oasis. This creates an inviting ambience for dinner. The Reef Bar Suspension can also be used in a living room, here above a coffee table.
